I first started
working at Butlins
Skegness
in
1946, in Reception, before becoming a Redcoat in 1947.
.

|
I was a
very
sporty girl. Here, I'm with the roller hockey team.
(Front Row: 4th from left - in the polka-dot clown
costume.)
|

|
And this
one
with the netball team.
I don't remember what the photographer said to make us laugh, but it
obviously tickled me.
(I'm Front Row - 5th from
left)
|

|
And that's me with the trophy I won in a
Tennis
Tournment.
|

|
But it
wasn't all
sport. Here, three of us Redcoats are having a good laugh
getting ready to follow the marching band into the Princes Hall.
|

|
The Princes Hall is
the long building facing the Children's Playground,
so you can now work out exactly where that queue
above was lined up.
|
In 1948 I was
tranferred to Mosney, to
be on
the
very first Redcoat team of this newly opened Camp.
Then in 1949 I
returned to
Skegness. What
memories.
