MESSAGE from George J. Allan: I’m now
back to stay in the UK after 23 years in Gran Canaria. For anyone who is
interested,
here is a
little update on what I ended up doing after Butlins Clacton 1976:
I got married in 1979, divorced in 89; then went out to Gran
Canaria in 93 and got back into entertainment. Created a character
called
Rockin’ Jock, and had enormous success for 18yrs. One song I wrote
called ‘Evil
Scotsman’ was downloaded onto YouTube, and Billy Connolly was given the
credit.
However, a comedian mate of mine, Gary Desmond, set the record straight
and you
can view it there if you want – ‘Evil Scotsman’ by Rockin’ Jock. I
retired
from entertainment 5yrs ago due to ill health, which is why I would
really love
to contact as many of the old crowd as possible.
